Do you supply your own sound system & stage lights? Yes, we supply all our own PA and stage lighting - all we require is that the venue has sufficient power points near the stage area that meet British safety standards. Our equipment is PAT tested and we carry public liability insurance. Can you play music if people wish to dance in your break? Yes, we are more than happy to play a party CD for people to continue to dance to whilst we take a short break - we are also happy to play a background CD whilst guests are arriving if you should wish. This suits some venues, eg country house weddings, as they dont have room for both band and DJ - I'm sure your wedding planner can advise on this. We can also arrange a DJ if you should require. Can you play a special song for the bride & groom's first dance? Yes, we would be happy to learn the song for their first dance - we appreciate this is very important part of the evening. Just let us know in advance and we can learn it. If by chance it really is something impossible (which it shouldn't be!) we are always happy to play the original on CD for you instead. How long do you play for? We play the standard band times, which are either 2 x 45 mins, 2 x 50 mins which is the preferred time, or we can do 2 x 60 mins if you require us to, or of course if you only wanted 1 x 60 min this is not a problem. We will do our best to suit your requirements. Any questions, please ask :) How much space do you need? Ideally, as we are a 5 piece Band with instruments, we need 18x10ft (approx). This size area would be ideal for us, but we have squeezed into some very small areas! Hope this will give you a rough idea (this has been a common question to us from clients prior to booking). Most venues have staging - if not a permanent fixture, they may have a portable stage which is put together in pieces (your venue events & banqueting manager or wedding planner will be able to help you with this). When should we book? As soon as you've decided you wish to go ahead you should call or email - especially if your event/wedding is a Saturday - this is the biggest selling day of the week for all entertainers. Most clients book up to 9 months in advance - some even 12 months in advance, but don’t let this put you off, if you‘re event is soon it's always best to call and check if we’re available on that date. Although the longer you leave it to book there is less chance of the date being available. How do we pay? We require a 10% deposit on booking to secure the date by cheque or BACS. The balance is then to be received 14 days prior to the event (cheque/Bacs) - from previous experience, this means you don’t have to worry about carrying a large sum of money around all day and can concentrate on enjoying the day. What do you require from us? We will gather all relevant information from you, eg venue and all times and schedule etc. All we require on the date of the engagement is a private lockable room to use as a dressing room, as you appreciate we don’t unload and set-up in our stage attire, with a mirror and some heating. Some soft refreshments like water and tea is always appreciated, especially if we have had a long journey. Ideally, we like 2 hours to set-up and sound-check prior to guests arrival - minimum 1 1/2 hr. This is usually done when there are no guests in the room, or if using the same room for day & eve function, this will be done in the rooms 'turn-around' when venue staff are clearing and re-setting. The only other thing we must stipulate, is that no one else comes onto the stage - this is due to health & safety (wires/trip hazards etc) plus there is then no risk to any instruments or equipment getting damaged. If you would like to use a microphone for a speech or announcement let us know in advance, we will make sure a microphone is set up for you.
